| Well there is a big diffrence between english and american. Sometimes cheesy american books are just what you need! American books are usually better!!!! | |

| I think English books are better cos the Americans use different spellings and if we read too many American books then we will use their spelling instead of the english version which we should use | |

| I adore both American and British Literature but because you have posed the question when I am reading Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit at the moment I would have to say British. Jeanette Winterson is a brilliant author. She manages to bring together the real and imaginary in what is called her metafiction. It deals with sexuality and growing up in a religious environment. It is a tender tale, which I adore. However, if you ask me in three weeks when I start The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath I would say that because she is a dark and somewhat introverted writer that explores quite deep themes.
